Support the Coalition

The Children’s Coalition for Northeast Louisiana is a local and community based 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to creating communities where children and families thrive. To do so requires the continued support of the community. So, what does it mean to be a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization? For non-profits, this means we can accept contributions and offer donors a tax deduction for their gifts. For donors like you, this means your contributions are fully tax-deductible to the amount followed by law.

 

How can I take a deduction for my donation?

To claim a deduction, you will need to fill out a 1040 Form, which is available through the IRS website, and itemize your deductions on Schedule A. If you fill out the short form or take standard deductions, you cannot claim your contributions.

 

How You Can Help:

Your contribution helps us serve as a model for building strengths of the community by:

  • Assisting families in identifying quality child care, ensuring more children are in a safe and loving environment
  • Assisting childcare providers in improving the quality of care provided to young children through training and education
  • Improving the social-emotional skills of pre-school age children through proven programming and mental health services
  • Helping children gain access to health insurance, ensuring more kids are healthy and thriving
  • Empowering parents with skills to meet their children’s needs.
  • Advocating for reform within the juvenile justice system, in legislation that impacts early childhood, and in the areas that affect health care access for children and pregnant mothers.
  • Providing youth with a basic mental health screen to identify issues that may have gone undetected and prevent long term problems.

 

These are just some of the ways that gifts are put to work through the Children’s Coalition. Our sponsors and donors have become an essential part of the overall success of the Children’s Coalition.
